It has recently come out that South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford used South Carolina tax dollars to indulge in his extramarital affair with a woman in Argentina.
That's right, Gov. Sanford, who became the hero to the Conservative Right Wing of the Republican Party when he played to the fiscal conservatives in rejecting the Obama federal stimulus funds, has raised some very legitimate concerns and questions. After misusing his position and misappropriating tax dollars for this personal use, Gov Sanford is now in the damage control mode making statements such as, “He is going to reimburse the state for the full cost of the Argentina leg of this trip.” (Well, yea now that he has been caught!!) According to the South Carolina Department of Commerce, Sanford's airline tickets cost $8,687, and included flights to different cities in Brazil and Argentina.
I am so glad that Gov. Sanford is watching out for the tax payers of South Carolina, and of course with the hopes that he would be taking good care of the United States tax budgets. Just Like Bush and Cheney did!!

Surely there is a psychology doctoral dissertation longing to be written about the psyche of this audience who seemingly 'believe' every spin, every lie, every fear monger that the radio jocks feed to them day after nauseous day.

ReplyDeleteI was speaking with two of my old school teachers, a married couple, and family friends for many years. The husband, I’ll call him Mr. “L”, was also the lawyer that represented the CIA agent that Ollie North reported to during the Iran Contra hearings. He was also an active member of the Republican Party here in the 1st district of Maryland.
I was telling them the story of the local Maryland State Senator we both knew, and how all of the local universities and colleges will not send and female students to intern with his office because of the repeated sexual harassments suits that have been filed over the years. (They cover up, pay off, and gloss over his repeated sexual harassment issues. He is a real dirt bag) A couple of colleges won’t even send males to intern with this Senator because he kept asking these college boys to go out and bring young girls to him. Of course he keeps getting elected because “He is a good Christian, Conservative Republican!”
The wife of the family friends, Mrs. “L’s”, reply, in her deep southern drawl accent was, “It’s not like its GOD DAMN RELIGION!!!” (She used to be a Southern Democrat before she married her Republican husband.)
