Tea Party Wants To Return To "The Good O'l Days"

I will start this posting with a lesson to those whom do not remember or even knew what the Jim Crow laws were.

The Jim Crow laws were state and local laws in the United States enacted between 1876 and 1965. They mandated “du Jour” racial segregation in all public facilities, with a supposedly "separate but equal" status for black Americans.

In reality, this led to treatment and accommodations that were usually inferior to those provided for white Americans, systematizing a number of economic, educational and social disadvantages.

Some examples of Jim Crow laws are the segregation of public schools, public places and public transportation, and the segregation of restrooms, restaurants and drinking fountains for whites and blacks. The U.S. military was also segregated. These Jim Crow Laws were separate from the 1800–1866 Black Codes, which also restricted the civil rights and civil liberties of African Americans. State-sponsored school segregation was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court of the United States in 1954 in Brown v. Board of Education. Generally, the remaining Jim Crow laws were overruled by the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 196. There own messages speak for themselves.

Today we are hearing a justification to repealing the Civil Rights Act of 1964 with the argument of State’s Rights verses Federal Government Rights. Those running for Congress and Senate claiming membership in the Tea Party Movement, are once again voicing returning to what are obviously nothing more that the old Jim Crow Laws. I am also of the mind that the current too conservative Supreme Court that is now more interested in ruling in favor of Corporate America that the populace citizens of this country, today would not find “Jim Crow Laws” unconstitutional.

Yes the Tea Party wants to return to the “Good O’l Days” but here are the Facts…..”They Weren’t That Good!!”

  1. Great history lesson, now show us "the facts" that any tea party candidates are proposing reinstating Jim Crow.
    And, your savy at finding pictures to "back up" your silly claims are a joke.

    The last picture especially. Do you know that there is a video clip of this guy being interviewed?
    Of course, you simply saw the word "niggar" and never bothered to read the sign.
    Congress = slave owner
    Taxpayer = niggar (sic)
    Indeed the man broke it down crudely (which he stated that he meant to in order to drive the fact home) but, he's pretty close to the truth.

    But yes, I can see where YOU could come to the conclusion that a man calling congress "slavemasters" and saying the rest of us are now the "Niggars" could only mean that he wishes to see Jim Crow return.

    Do some homework before opening your mouth and repeating nonsense in the hopes that someone as ignorant as yourself actually believes it too.
    But, since you're such an "expert" on the tea party people, NAME the BLACK Tea party candidates!
    Show us all your deep knowledge on the subject!
    I'll give you a hint though...there are 25 tea party backed BLACK candidates running for office.
    Name em all...then explain to us why they want to go back to the Jim Crow days!
    Maybe they want their private drinkng fountains and restrooms back?
    Only you would know.

  2. Our local Tea Party/GOP candidate, the man in the Nazi suit, said that he 'wasn't sure' if the Equal Rights Amendment was a good decision. But then, Nazis didn't believe in too many equal rights.

  3. Of course the Tea Party candidates would never actually endorse a return to the days of the Jim Crow laws, but to repeatedly deny and try to cover up the racism that has found its voice in the Tea Baggery coalition of loosely tied together nut products is patently irresposible.
    Yes, there are black tea baggers, but to be a candidate in the teabag coalition is almost, at this point in time, to declare a self promoting agenda of garnering publicity which can be used to cash in at a later date for an audition of Dancing With The Stars or some other dodgy financial dream.
    I take exception to criticism from a person who thinks that any social demonstration that isn't a Glenn Beck Ass Kissing Rally...oops, a Glenn Beck Book Signing event is a cause for a security alert.....

  4. These photos were taken at some Tea Party Rallies and speak volumes of the demographics of this Party.

    The cartoon was sent me by a Delaware Tea Party member. I have a new one that was just sent me and is titled, White House Jack-O-Lantern, which is a watermelon carved like a Halloween pumpkin…..Funny stuff to a Teabagger I guess.

    When Paul states very openly that his platform for his Senate race, is repealing the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The prominent law of the land before the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was Jim Crow and remnants of, ergo; one must take the viewpoint that this is where Paul, The Tea Party Endorsed Candidate, wants to take this country.

  6. Despite what Sepp believes, there is a strong racist element in the Tea Party. Race is being used once again as a tool to divide an conquer the American people (there is an interesting segment in the Studio 360 programme on Monticello on the race phenomenon in the early 20th Century. As you point out, it's rearing its ugly head again.

    What a shame.

  7. Sepp is an apologist and deep in denial. Sometimes tedious, but actually, I am finding his performances more and more entertaining and what ever I can do to evince a more heart felt and convincing display of his talented emoting is a small sacrifice on my part. Gentlemen, we stand in awe of a great artist....
    We owe it to the world to inspire him to debase himself to the utmost and with even more avid fervor, forsooth and perchance we can award him the great honors he so fervently yearns for....
    I have started a momentuous collection of navel lint in his honor.

  8. Hello All,
    Yes, Sepp is a non-factor in any logical debate….his musings are for “high calorie low nutrition value” entrainment only. Much like a Twinkie with all of its toxic waste and preservatives. Maybe if we let him go on with his “Blah Blah Blah,” substance comments….he won’t go postal and gun down innocent people in his local Mall.

    The true Founding Fathers were more honorable people with values of tenants such as “We hold these truths to be self evident, All Men are Created Equal, Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Religion, etc.”

    This current Tea Party leadership is about feeding hate and propagating inaccurate facts that do nothing more than line the wallets in their own purses. The delusions of the Teabaggers viewing themselves like the icon "Minute Man" standing guard ready to respond to the “Call To Arms” at a moments notice is a far cry from the reality of wanting to rescind the “Civil Rights Act of 1964,” "I use to be a Witch but now I give anit-masterbation lectures," or giving validity of anti-immigration hate groups response to the latest wave of those coming into this country. Be it religious or ethnic related, it is nothing more than just plain hate groups.
