The Latest News From Wisconsin

Police say the largest crowd yet descended on Wisconsin's Capitol to protest cuts to public worker collective bargaining rights yesterday. Protests have rocked the Capitol almost every day since Governor Scott Walker unveiled his proposal. But Madison police estimate the crowd of 85,000 to 100,000 by late afternoon as the largest.

More and more people in Wisconsin are waking up and realizing the BIG MISTAKE they made by voting in the Republican Governor Scott Walker.

Maybe this is a good thing as people are realizing that the GOP feeds lies and bullshit during a campaign then robs the wealth from the citizens after they get in office.

Here is a thought for all you Green Bay Packer fans in Wisconsin or any team fan across the country. Why is it you will hear complaints from the Ultra Conservatives against the Teacher’s Union but not a word from the NFL Player’s Union in talks with the Team Owners which is threatening a strike for next season? Is it NFL Player’s Union GOOD and Teacher’s Unions BAD?

Prank Call Proves Billionaire David Koch Owns Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker And The GOP

A prank caller pretending to be billionaire conservative businessman David Koch was able to have a lengthy conversation with Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker about his strategy to cripple public employee unions, the governor's office confirmed Wednesday.

On the call, Walker joked about bringing a baseball bat to a meeting with Democratic leaders, said it would "be outstanding" to be flown out to California by Koch for a good time after the battle is over, and said he expected the anti-union movement to spread across the country.

Audio was posted on the Buffalo Beast, a left-leaning website based in New York, and quickly spread across the Internet.

Democrats ripped Walker's comments on the call on the Assembly floor Wednesday morning, saying they had nothing to do with his assertion that legislation stripping public employees' collective bargaining rights is needed to help solve a looming budget deficit.
"That's why we must fight it! That is why people must come to the Capitol and fight this!" Rep. Jon Richards of Milwaukee yelled as thousands of protesters inside the rotunda roared in approval. "This isn't about balancing the budget, this is about a political war."

Walker spokesman Cullen Werwie confirmed Walker took the call, which will only heighten widespread suspicions that brothers David and Charles Koch are pulling strings in Wisconsin's battle as part of a conservative agenda to limit the unions' power.
The governor's plan would take away the ability of state and local public employees to collectively bargain for working conditions, benefits, or any other than their base salaries. Unions could not collect mandatory dues and would face a vote of its members every year to stay in existence.

The plan has set off more than a week of demonstrations at the Capitol, and prompted Wisconsin Senate Democrats to flee the state to block its passage. Similar ideas are being pushed in some other states with Republican governors.
The man pretending to be Koch said, "You're the first domino."

Of course trying to stop the selling of his state to Kock is just too late. Gov. Scott Walker says he won't be distracted by a prank phone call made by a blogger posing as one of his campaign donors, and he'll push forward with a bill to limit the power of public employee unions.....because that is what he was paid to do!!!

Gov. Bobby Jindal Demands The Federal Government Step In And Take Over the BP Oil Spill Disaster

Remember when Gov. Bobby Jindal spoke at the Republican Presidential Convention supporting Sarah Palin’s “Drill Baby Drill” policies. He also went on to say, “It comes down to an honest and fundamental disagreement about the proper role of government. We oppose the national Democrats' view that says the way to strengthen our country is to increase dependence on government. We believe the way to strengthen our country is to restrain spending in Washington and empower individuals and small businesses to grow our economy and create jobs.”

Well it seams that Gov. Bobby has had a change of heart and now has an inverse viewpoint of this, his once core belief. Today Gov. Bobby Jindal is complaining that President Obama will not take over and build barrier islands to take on the surge of the oil coming ashore towards Louisiana. What Gov. Bobby Jindal who’s core beliefs and proclamation that Government is not the answer…Government is the problem….is now demanding the Government take over and build barrier islands for Louisiana on the tax payers expense?!?!? So I guess if it is someone else’s problem, the government should not get involved…but if it is destroying your own personal wealth, government needs to step in and take over. Go figure?!?!?

When Gov. Bobby Jindal closed his speech at the Republican Presidential Convention he finished with, “This is the nation that cast off the scourge of slavery (with his state violently fight the whole way complaining that the Federal government was over riding States Rights), overcame the Great Depression (with federal government programs such as CCC, WPA, TVA, etc), prevailed in two World Wars (like Louisiana was the deciding factor?), won the struggle for civil rights (again with his state violently fight the whole way complaining that the Federal government was over riding States Rights), defeated the Soviet menace and responded with determined courage to the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. (OK I can’t even follow how Louisiana played a factor in any of this) The American spirit has triumphed over almost every form of adversity known to man, and the American spirit will triumph again.”

Yes so long as President Obama gets of his ass of not doing anything, have the Federal Government spend tax payer’s borrowed money, and build barrier islands off the coast of Louisiana….Because the Drill Baby Drill programs of the oil companies for the previous 8 years had nothing to do with his troubles and loss of personal wealth today.

My how easily these Conservative Republicans can change their minds when their own policies and decisions steal away their own personal wealth!!

Sarah Palin’s Maverick Persona, Her Achilles Heel

As time counts down to the end of this month for Sarah Palin as Governor of Alaska, so goes the hopes for the Fanatical Religious Right Wing of the Republican Party.

As late as March of this year, a senior official from the Republican Governors Association headed for Alaska on a secret mission to mentor and to perform damage control for Sarah Palin. After the exposure of her blatant incompetence on the national level, Sarah Palin was now beset with political and personal turmoil back in Alaska. Some powerful supporters even put together an intervention trying to pull her governorship, and her national future, back from the brink of disaster.

The problem was that just as soon as Sarah Palin returned to Alaska from her meltdown on the national election stage disaster, she continued her relentless string of professional and personal incompetence that quickly put this goal out of reach. As soon as she returned home, the Governor was isolated from an increasingly critical Alaskan Legislature.

Lawmakers who had supported her signature effort to develop a natural gas pipeline, turned into uncooperative critics. Soon ethics complaints mounted, and legal bills followed. At home Sarah Palin was dealing with a teenage daughter who had given birth to a son and broken up with the infant’s father.
The Republican Governors Association’s executive director, Nick Ayers, arrived with a damage control memorandum containing firm counsel that stated the advice:

1. Make a long term schedule and stick to it.

2. Have staff members set aside ample and inviolable family time to replenish your spirits.

3. Build a coherent home state agenda that creates jobs and ensures re-election.

Unfortunately, Sarah Palin was more interested in keeping her “Maverick Persona” than listening to the advice of those within the Republican Party with much more experience on how to handle her situations. Sarah Palin would give the false impression of gladly receiving the advice sent by influential supporters, but then would just discard and ignore this advice trying to help her. In retrospect, Sarah was her own worst enemy and it was evident that she is the reason for her marching, as if in a trance, towards her inevitable resignation.

In conclusion, when the Fanatical Religious Right Wing Lemmings showed up at her Vice-Presidential rallies and chanted, “Run Sarah Run,” the rest of us were thinking, “Yea, Run Back to Alaska Caribou Barbie Because We Are Not Going To Allow You To Force Your Incompetence On The Rest Of Us.” With all the Republican help she had trying to make her a functioning person, the result was that her incompetence still won out with the proof of her resignation as Governor.
