Department of Homeland Security released a report last year warning about the threat from right-wing domestic terror. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said intelligence reports highlighting the potential terrorist threats posed by right wing extremists groups are "not accusations, they're assessments."
Homeland Security Office of Intelligence and Analysis defines "rightwing extremism in the United States" as including not just racist or hate groups, but also groups that reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority including “groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single-issue, such as opposition to abortion, fear of what is viewed as gun control "taking away their guns," or immigration," the warning says.
The Department of Homeland Security issued intelligence assessment warnings to local police departments that American Right Wing Extremists pose the greatest threat of terrorist attacks in this country. Right-wing extremists in the United States are gaining new recruits by exploiting fears about the economy and the election of the first black U.S. president, the Department of Homeland Security warned in the report to law enforcement officials.
Fears were driving resurgence in "recruitment and radicalization activity" by white supremacist groups, antigovernment extremists and militia movements.
DHS did not release any specific information about pending violence but it warned that home foreclosures, unemployment and other consequences of the economic recession "could create a fertile recruiting environment for right-wing extremists."
To confirm the validity of this report, one only has to review the recent situations like:
1. The inept skinheads in Tennessee who thought they could stage a tuxedo-themed assassination of Barack Obama.
2. The Pentagon is viewing their subway entrance shooting by John Patrick Bedell as the latest motivated by far right ideology.
3. James Von Brunn, a white supremacist and neo-Nazi, who shot the security guard at the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC.
4. Dr. George Tiller was shot in the foyer while serving as an usher in the Reformation Lutheran Church by an anti-abortion extremist, Scott Roeder.
This is just a few recent examples and it is not a stretch for one to see that there is the good possibility of another Tim McVeigh lone wolf type, the Oklahoma City bomber, who attacked the FBI building because of his opposition view of gun violations causing the Ruby Ridge incident.
Do you like kool-aid? Because you definitely sound like a kool-aid drinker.
ReplyDeletestarviego... I have no idea what that means. But my guess is you're exactly what this article is all about.
ReplyDeleteEng..
The ONE thing all these nutty radical groups have in common is their love of jesus. Jesus is an American, you know, and he won't stand for any of this black president ledgitimacy, central gov't authority, or anti-gun rhetoric!
They are also typically undereducated, paranoid and trapped in low paying careers/jobs. They have to blame someone.
Starviego is the topic of this thread.
ReplyDeleteHump- many citizens don't seem to know that one can be a 'patriot' without being a christian. In fact, the two are an anathema.
Engineer- your post begs the question, 'Just how dumb-down do the citizens of this nation remain, especially after the bamboozlement of the Bush/Cheney oligarchy?
Hello starviego,
ReplyDeleteI want to thank you for your feeble attempt of trying to be clever but I should enlighten you that your analogy if “Drinking Kool-Aid” is an incorrect application of the phrase in this instant.
The phrase references those whom have allowed Extreme Religious aspects rule ones life to the point that you endanger yourself and others. The “Drinks the Kool-Aid” references those of Jonestown governed by the drug addicted, mentally unstable, but extremely religious apocalyptic preaching of Jimmy Jones and of course the outcomes for his followers were to commit mass suicide or participated in killed fellow congregation members who did not acquiesce.
Now a lesson in “Logical Argumentation” one would learn in English 101.
1. First you make an opening statement.
2. Next you present supporting evidence that reinforces your opening statement.
3. You present more supporting evidence supporting your statement.
4. Now you close the paragraph with your conclusion correlating how your supporting evidence proves your opening statement.
So I am thinking that you want to make a comment that you know MORE and have Better information than those at Homeland Security and in the Pentagon? Have you passed on this enlighten and epiphany to them? I am sure they would love to hear from you.
Maybe you are trying to say in your own inept way that you have an issue and want to dispute the validity that:
1. A group of Skinheads were arrested in Tennessee who thought they could stage a tuxedo-themed assassination of Barack Obama.
2. You want to disagree with the Pentagon’s report that views their subway entrance shooting by John Patrick Bedell as the latest motivated by far right ideology.
3. Surely you cannot be disputing the existence of James Von Brunn, a white supremacist and neo-Nazi, who shot the security guard at the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC. (I know too many people who had encounters with this person)
4. The trial of Scott Roeder where he openly admitted that he shot and killed Dr. George Tiller in the foyer of Tiller’s church while he was serving as an usher in the Reformation Lutheran Church by an anti-abortion extremist, Scott Roeder.
Now this being said, I want to thank you again for your “kool-aid drinker” comment because it shows volumes of your lack of education, your application thereof, and the thought process of a week mind and lack of an education to properly present you views. I am sure that you will be pleased to know that I will be using you post for a humorous teaching tool to others of higher intellect.
Hello Muddy and Hump,
ReplyDeleteI was in the process of writing my reply when you posted your comments. I think that we could all use this obvious ignorance of this “Starviego” person as a good example of those whom do not even know how to properly apply the phrase of “Kool-Aid Drinker” to the “Extremely Religious” demographics. I think that we all can use Starviego’s posting as a lesson plan to educate others who read our blogs. It is the perfect example of those who are allowed a computer but with much ignorance of not knowing how to use it properly.
Anyone who has regularly read my writings knows very well the absurd humor that this posting presents to the rest of us.
As a matter of fact, it is quite absurd for anyone to think that I am religious; much less indulging in the “Apocalyptic Extreme Religion” to the point I would want to commit suicide based on these paranoid viewpoints. I still chuckle to myself at this thought when it crosses my mind.
You have my complete permission to use this posting to pass on as the perfect example of those of week minds who cannot communicate properly but have their “Right Wing Conservative Viewpoints,” and the “Ignorance To Present It As So!!”
Enjoy!!
